President’s Message

Greetings Sorors and Guests,
On behalf of the officers and members of Summerville Alumnae Chapter, I welcome you to our website.
I am excited, energized and highly motivated to be in this place at this time. What a tremendous privilege and honor it is to serve as the fifteenth President of this illustrious chapter.   Over the past 30 years, Summerville Alumnae has served as a stellar fraternal organization in the Dorchester County community.  I salute the 20 Chapter Charter Members and I honor their vision to impact the social, political and educational landscape while addressing critical issues in our community
Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated has a remarkable history of social, educational, and political involvement nationally and in local communities.  Since its founding on January 13, 1913 by 22 collegiate women at Howard University, more than 200,000 women have been initiated into our honored sisterhood. We, here in Summerville Alumnae, pride ourselves on being a part of the National Organization’s Uncompromising Commitment to Communities through Service, Leadership and Empowerment.
We salute our legacy, honor our past, claim the present and chart the future as we move forward to make a difference.
Our major programs are based on the Sorority’s Five Point Programmatic Thrust:
